Character Information

Mitchel Blade

Wrath

One-hundred-forty / Immortal

Hybrid species

Private Investigator / Warlord General / Mercenary

Personality and Lifestyle

Mitchel is an irate and distrustful individual. Whenever problems come up in his day-to-day, his first approach will be violence or threats of violence. His temper is non-existent, and he's disgruntled most of the time. Due to severe PTSD, he is also very distant from most individuals around him.

Yet, through all of the rage and trauma, he still finds a will to live. One of his mentors referred to it as the indomitable human spirit. To him, it's a dream that he will never let go of. His continued desire for a life of peace and a shot at being a husband and father was given to him a second time despite him being what many referred to as unstable and troubled.

Wrath married a Demon Knight named Viviette Lynn, who has graced him with three powerful children. Vincent, Estelle, and Rubin. He would annihilate countries for these four individuals if they just asked him. Luckily for everyone, he is only called to be a husband and a father, and he does so with pride and bliss.

Unfortunately for everyone, he was a menace to the household when he didn't have anything to fill his time as he waited for his family to return from their daily responsibilities. He wasn't about to come out of retirement and risk his life doing mercenary work again, but he didn't have many other skills outside of combat. Instead, he settled for the small stuff, working as a private investigator. This way, he would avoid legal trouble, and his wife would have peace and security in her new family.

The retired war general is nearly domesticated. Yet, there was something that kept him on edge. Something he didn't understand. A presence? A dream? From time to time, he would catch himself drifting into chaos as his mind plagued him with thoughts of pain and loss. These thoughts alone are what keeps him from throwing his weapons of war into the void. He must keep his family, no matter the price.

History and Lore

In the beginning...

Mitchel Blade was born human and transformed into something far more. His story is one of struggle, resilience, and loss. He was once considered a useless human born to die. Through his persistence and will, he was burdened with a purpose to restore hope to a world on the brink of destruction.

Born in 1995 to a low-income family in the slums of Stunim, a city governed by Ars Goetia along the borders of Finland and Agreti. His parents didn't bother naming him before selling him off to a private military company called Vector Incorporate before he had his first birthday. Ironically, his parent's choice led him down a better path in life than if they raised him. Caretakes of the company named him Mitchel and gave him the surname his father used to sign him over. Blade. Unknown to him, demons killed them a few months later. The only link he has to his biological family is his last name. He has never bothered to find them.

Vector and the Merc...

Vector provided a stable and nurturing environment for Mitchel throughout infancy, but the day he took his first steps marked the beginning of his education and training. For most of his childhood, his mornings consisted of physical training, ranging from hand-to-hand combat to environmental endurance and physical discipline. His afternoons were devoted to general knowledge, languages, foreign politics, and magical physics. By evening, he spent his time conducting night operations, participating in various weapons training exercises, and undergoing Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) training.

Once he turned eighteen, he officially enlisted as a Vector mercenary. Though he was still human, he was efficient enough in the craft of war to stay alive. He knew the strengths and speeds of most of his non-human opponents, so he had no choice but to rely on the advanced technology provided by his company. He had a strong understanding of counter-magic but lacked the power to execute most of its abilities. He used scrolls preloaded with counter-magic, devices that could teleport him out of deadly situations, and weapons that could buy him time to escape or divert.

Vector saw Mitchel as a valuable asset and often sent him on sabotage or recovery missions instead of sending him into combat zones. He was human and was frequently underestimated, thus making him a perfect candidate for sabotage, destabilization, espionage, undercover operations, and unconventional warfare. He was a blade no one ever saw coming. Unfortunately, he was beginning to make a name for himself in Vector.

By the age of twenty-four, Mitchel had been faced with death quite a few times. The demon of Wrath had almost dragged him to Hell once. A large wolf had mauled him and taken his left arm. Vampires came close to taking him twice. Luckily for him, he was able to escape all scenarios and receive quick medical attention. He even had his arm regenerated for him by a healing deity. Still, he felt that, given his current life trajectory, he wouldn't live to see his thirties.

Life had its way of pulling Mitchel in different directions. He was assigned a task that he believed would not only earn him freedom from Vector but could also grant him citizenship in a recognized country. He had hoped for Rome, where Vector was based.

His mission was to retrieve the Orb of Victory from the Celtic Triple Goddess known as Brigantia. The orb was a magical artifact that she had killed millions over and kept secured to her waist at all times. She was one of the deities who played a significant role in the God's Civil War at the beginning of time. She has been a part of nearly every conflict in the world to date and has never known loss. And he was sent to pickpocket her most prized possession. He should've known his commanders were sending him to die.

His mission fails horrifically. Brigantia dismantles his entire unit, leaving him with no means of retreat. Instead of killing him, she offered him a deal. She had a score to settle with one of the higher-ups in Vector. In exchange for his knowledge and willingness to serve in her circle, she would offer him sanctuary in England. He accepts the deal, aids her in a targeted killing of the Vector CEO, and never looks back.

The Exalted One...

Four years pass under the service of Brigantia, and he learns nothing new about her. She was stoic in all their conversations and hadn't mentioned anyone close to her. No Children, no lovers, and no friends. It was as though her only purpose was to move around and hoard magical artifacts from everyone. She offered him advanced training in counter-magic and weapons. Specifically a spear and a sword, as those were her weapons of choice. He was grateful for the opportunity to train with someone as powerful as she, yet he didn't understand her purpose.

What did she see in him? She could call down the power of the sun and reduce him to nothing in seconds. What use did she have for him? Why didn't she ally herself with more gods and deities? That's what the rest of her kind would do. Something was off, but he didn't know what.

Creed, another anomaly to the equation, and Yoruba Orisha didn't do much to explain the situation. One thing he did make clear was that Brigantia wasn't a part of any government agency in the United Kingdom. Instead, she was operating on her own will to seize weapons of mass destruction from the United States. Suddenly, Mitchel wanted his position back with Vector.

Once Brigantia felt he was ready, she began to bring him along on operations, allowing him to do what he did best. Creed and Brigantia would serve as a distraction while Mitchel would sneak in and grab whatever data he needed to accuse U.S. agencies of harboring WMDs on foreign land. He learned of chemical bombs, atom bombs, sigils meant to summon world killers, and cosmogonic weapons. Plots to kill other gods, shady deals, and illegal operations all over the world. No wonder Brigantia kept her cards close to her chest.

The things he witnessed made him realize how insignificant his strength was in comparison to the power of gods and deities. They were moving at speeds he couldn't see. Receiving and dishing out hits that would split his human body in half. The ways they used magic during their battles were something to be feared and respected.

There was a moment when Mitchel thought he could see some of her tactics. In one of her battles against Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, he watches as MjΗ«llnir collides with her spear. While she grips her spear with both hands, the hammer pushes her back. Muscles in her legs and arms flex as she digs the bottom of her boots into the ground and slides to a slow stop. A blue bolt of lightning strikes her left thigh, dropping her to a knee and allowing Thor to knee her jaw and grab her by the neck. Without hesitation, fear, or words, she uses a beam of pure sun to burn her spear through his leg and pin him to the Earth. With bare fists, she delivers an onslaught of punches that only someone of Thor's physique would be able to endure. One to the cheek, then to the rib cage. He tries to pull a bolt of lightning from the sky above her, but she intercepts the magic by placing her hand in his, opening the sigil, and modifying it to her own. Sunlight sent him across the floor with her spear still in his leg.

The fight went on like this. Violent and powerful. Few words were exchanged between the two gods. Eventually, Thor concedes. She heals his wounds for him as they finally resort to diplomacy, a mercy only afforded to other gods and deities. If that were Mitchel, he would've been red-paste in the dirt. What the fuck was he doing here?

Ashbel and Company...

Just when he thought he had gathered enough evidence to blackmail his way into freedom and escape the combat zone, he finds himself en route to Hell City. The first prosperous city inside the European Red Zone. It was founded by Lucifer when he abandoned his goals of hostile conquest and instead adopted a political approach to demon supremacy. Demon architecture built the inverted city into the red dunes northeast of Turkey. At its center and deepest point was an active portal to Hell monitored closely by Arakiel.

It had only been about thirty minutes since some uttered a new name in Gods Halls: Mai Laiñe, daughter of Ashbel Laiñe and Brigantia. Even Mitchel knows the gravity of those two names together. Brigantia broke God's Next of Kin laws. In seven days, the Gods will issue a kill order on Mai and Ashbel. Brigantia will likely be exiled and stripped of her weapons and artifacts. A bad situation he wants no part of. He hears the panic in her voice as she orders himself and Creed to follow her to Hell City, rescue Mai, and retreat into the ERZ. This is the mission; this is how Mitchel Blade meets his gruesome end.

So he thought. Ashbel Laiñe and his biological twin sister, Abigale Laiñe, turn out to be bolder and more agile than he expected. Ashbel is a tall, demon-human hybrid with shaggy white hair and yellow eyes that convey a mix of mischief and something more ominous. He has a muscular frame, but nothing Mitchel hasn't seen before. Though black leather fingerless gloves cover his hands, he can still make out tattoos with magical emblems and sigils on his fingers and wrists. He assumes his arms have similar markings, but the rest of his attire consists of a dark red trench coat with the sleeves rolled just below the elbows and a charcoal black undershirt loosely tucked into dark blue, slim-fitting jeans, finished with worn black combat boots. The only weapons he spots on Ash's hips are two pistols. Mitchel realizes he has heard what he assumes are rumors about this hunter—someone who uses pistols to fight supernatural individuals. Most, if not all, living things understood that guns could only do so much against demons, angels, and other magical beings. But some have talked about a man using a firearm to blast heads and limbs off of his targets. Something about the bullets and guns being made from otherworldly materials has a distinct effect on different individuals.

This means the same is true about Abi and her giant anti-material rifle. Not to mention, she's credited with undoing some complex curses and seals. She's the same height as her brother and almost weighs as much. Her hair is blood red, straight, and drops to the small of her back. The hues of her eyes are yellow with a red outer ring and pinpoint pupils, often scanning her surroundings. She frequently relies on her magical abilities and direct hand-to-hand combat skills. Mitchel has heard she can punch someone through the Earth's core if their body can handle it. Two legends of the world stood before Mitchel, but he can't say he's ever heard of the woman with green hair.

Mai Laiñe is from a different fabric of life. Mitchel had just seen twenty-eight years straight of war and death. He saw the worst of the gods, how they played with power and life that they deemed lesser than their own. He wanted to retire to a city among humans, find a wife, have children, and hopefully never have to deal with magic and supernatural beings again. Yet here is this individual who is being hunted for simply existing, running in the opposite direction. She wants to be known. She wants to change the world, and not with fire. She speaks of healing, mercy, and endurance. It is a little sickening to him, but he allows himself to believe in her antics. Maybe she will change the world.

The European Red Zone...

And so they headed northwest across the ERZ. Ash spoke of a weapon to help Mai survive, something he had designed himself. Abi explained the ritual magic behind the weapon and how they were drawing on Lilith's magic, which dates back hundreds of years. Then she mentioned Chelsea Yamada, a Shinto Thunder Goddess, daughter of Raijin. Chelsea was exiled to the war-torn continent of Aeterus after she lost it all to the Aztec War God, Huitzilopochtli, at the end of the Second World War.
