Just as Stefan carried Zara inside along wot Alaric,‘’what he hell are you?’’ Stefan asked ‘’ a friend… ‘’ the woman asnwered ‘’for the last 500 years, every witch Zara has kileld.. has been trying to remove the darkness form her… its all we’ve been trying to do.. we warn covens.. but by the time we try anything new.. the darkness inside Zara has taken mroe lives.. gaining me power befor eit finally became a full entity on its on.. its been sucking Zara’s life force.. we… we all dismissed Zara as an abomination.. but after seeing Kendra formt he other ide.. seeing how… easily she accepted her.. we knew we had to do something to correct ou wrongs and give Zara a better chance at her hybrid life.. her pwoer.. will return in five days, but.. it’ll be cleansed… throguh Kendra… the tattoo you see now will fade during the five days and slowly Zara’s power will come back.. but not fully… it will be cut in half.. half given back while the other half stays with Knedra’s… Kendra’s own darkness.. the love for death she has… is mroe powerful than te darkness Zara gained…it… it.. stronger… more fearsome and wht more.. it suppresses the dark entity into submission… we could only cleanse half of it fully, which will be given back to Zara… and so Kendra will keep the other half.. as a tribrid.. she’s stronger… she mroe.. equipped to handle it than Zara ever could be… thats why we chose her and used ester to gain access, since esters body is still in this physical plane, it was easier to use her and carry out our plan…’’ the woman said ‘’you nearly killed bot of them!’’ Stean stated ‘’indeed.. we did.. but if we hadnt gon this route.. .the world would have died and so would everything in it.. leaving only Zara… is that you wnat?’’ The woman asked ‘’look, we get it.. but.. why couldnt Ken tell us? We would ahve helped her’’ Damon’s aid ‘’she said she would tell you… why she did not.. i dont know… but what’s done is done… be thankful your sisters obsession with death… is so strong.. ‘’ the woman siad before vanishing. Knedra’s was still unconscious but already the tattoo had faded on her neck/chest, a small amount of pwoer returning to Zara, just enough to heal her and give her some life back.
Over the next few days, Elijah remained by Kendra's side as she lied peacefully in her bed not waking, though her vitals were stable like the tribrid that she had become. He had doubts as to how much his mother was truly involved in this, in using Kendra or how much of it was all a trick to sway them off her course. And for what? To take away the darkness that had controlled Zara for half a millennium? It was alot of power she had taken from witches past, but as time went on Elijah knew she had to wake up, Bonnie confirmed she could feel the magic inside Kendra balancing itself out and the darkness becoming nothing, but it took time. Fortunately that's all Elijah had.
Zara had been unconscious for the first three days, her appearance had changed, she wasn't so sickly pale and her hair was no longer black like when she first came to Mystic Falls. When she woke up and realized what had passed, she felt...free, for the first time in centuries, there was no darkness left inside her to fight. Zara had been so overwhelmed at this realization and cried tears of absolute joy. Her physical self was fine, it was her power that seemed alot...dimmer, but apparently that would return in a few days. Zara was glad to wake up to Stefan's face, and the talk that they had. Zara had never in her long life felt love before, not until she met Stefan, and she would gladly take that chance with him as a part of starting over, doing better than what she had for so long.
Elijah's head shot up when he heard Kendra gasp awake, he was mildly startled but relieved at the same time. "I wasn't staring, I was watching you in turns" he teased a bit at her. When Kendra pulled her legs up towards herself, Elijah moved from the chair to her bed. "Five days, the ancestors said it would take that long for the darkness you took from Zara to be gone and your magic to balance out" he told her. Reaching into a nearby cooler, he handed her a blood bag "You should drink" he told her as he opened it for her and his other arm was lightly around behind her.
While Stefan stepped out, Zara had gotten up and showered, changing into black shorts and a black tank top. She had her bathroom door open as she looked at herself, she hadn't seen the true version of herself in centuries, it was weird. Zara quickly turned when she heard Stefan come inside. "Better, now that I'm clean" she joked a bit as she sat back down and he put the tray over her lap. Zara slightly made a face with her lips and sighed. "That's just it. It's weird....not having this internal battle ALL the time...seeing the horror that I had made myself look back at me in my head or in the mirror....the truth is I don't know how I feel right now about any of it...I spent so long in darkness..." she admitted shamefully.
Kendra sighed a bit and turned to look at Elijah before taking the blood bag ‘’thanks.. ‘’she siad softly and took a. Few drinks of it… ‘’you know.. i so dont even feel like myself anymore…its like.. im not even in my own body right now… this whole.. tribrid thing.. just throws you right off.. why anyone would wanna be a hybrid is beyond me..’’ she stated an dsighed ‘’even my mind, its still buzzing’’ she added before finishing the blood bag and toss it onto her ngiht stand, not overly caring about where it went right now… ‘’ whats stranger though.. i can feel that dark magic still coursing throguh me.. but.. its… how can i explain it.. its like its… gotten… purified?.. I guess.. i can sti;l hear that stupid voice every so often.. but.. its fades after like a second of it yapping… and all these.. bad, horrible.. dark memories i use to have ar just.. gone now…’’ she added and sighed a bit as she massaged her temples.
stefan smiled and chuckled, shaking his head befire gently scratching his brow ‘’yeah.. uh.. our friends the ancestors said it would be weird for you… and that you might be or feel different… Bonnie was able to contact Emily.. and Emily explained that now that your magic is ont he good side, like it should have been, you’ll feel more free… happier.. and you’ll be able to do things you werent bale to do before… i gues suse pills that use good magic and not.. dark magic..’’ he siad and sighed ‘’i guess we have Kendra and her stubbornness to thank for doing this.. for.. freeing.. you’’ he siad and bumped her shoulder a bit ‘’though.. i like the black hair better on you.. suits you more’’ he teased and chuckled when she threw a piece of toast at him.
